Watching Upstairs, Downstairs

I am enjoying the videos of "Upstairs, Downstairs" that I have borrowed from the library. I am almost finished a novel by Josephine Cox, "Somewhere, Someday." She is a new author to me. She does keep me turning the pages, though I noticed her plot is a bit superficial, it has gripped my imagination in a way that no book as been able to do in several years. I think this is because she causes you to wonder what is going to happen next all the way through the story. I really don't have the time to devote to a novel that makes me work too hard.

It's annoying how I get various ideas for my blog during the day when I don't have time to post them, yet when all my regular work is done, my mind draws a blank. So I am just posting random thoughts now and then.

It just occurred to me today that we haven't had rain in ages. This is unusual for the Comox Valley. I honestly cannot remember the last rainfall we have had! It will come soon enough though. Fall has been in the air the past couple of weeks. The sun is shining and it is hot when you sit out in it, but there is always a pleasant breeze that now has a chilly nip to it. I prefer this weather to the relentless breathless heat that comes in June and July. It is still necessary to cool off the air in my apartment by running a couple of fans on either side of me. I go to sleep every night with a fan blowing on me. I use one of those timers so that it shuts off after a couple of hours.

I had a flu that lasted about 10 days and the main symptoms was sweating. It was awful. I had to shower twice a day at least. I think I was running a fever that simply would not let up, despite me taking Benylin All-in-One tablets several times a day.

It's 11:15 p.m. and I have to get up to do some errands tomorrow desite it being Saturday. I won't get up until I feel like it, but I have to drive mom over the hairdressers - walk in type, so that makes it easier. Also have to wash some laundry and do a bit of typing. Can't leave it until Sunday as David may want me to babysit on Sunday.
