Recycling Fee on Electronics Came as a Shock

I guess if I had shopped at the Salvation Army and had found what I wanted there I would have been better off. Mom wanted a TV in her bedroom where she has her air conditioner. She lies on the couch a lot and watches TV in her livingroom. But when it gets too hot in there, and her back hurts from being on the couch, she likes to move to her bedroom. She just got Shaw to put a jack for the cable TV in her bedroom, but had no TV. I offered her my little one. I asked if she could give me $50 towards a new one (she didn't say one way or the other).

I decided that I still needed a TV in my bedrooom for when I am too tired to sit up and want to be in my bed or propped up in my bed, and watch TV. I thought I would shop around and compare priced. I checked all flyers - no suitable TVs. So I went to Zellers and saw one that looked like a good deal for only $129 (20 inch). I compared it with what London Drugs had. The Zeller's deal was better, as LD has only expensive large sets.

I returned to Zellers and bought the one they had. My foot was too sore to check Walmart. I knew Future Shop only had costly TVs from my experience buying mom's TV several months ago.

So when I got to the till I was prepared for the PST and the GST, but not the recycling fee!
