My cousin, Patrick, from Alberta sent
me these gorgeous photos that he took
of his garden. These are copyrighted.

I have been very busy lately, no time for blogging. I seem to be always going to health care professionals these days. I suppose that's life for those of us who are middle-aged. My eyes seem to be changing every year. I went to the optometrist for a checkup, because my eyes have been burning. I recently purchased a new computer and LCD monitor, which is supposed to be easier on the eyes. Since I am a medical transcriptionist who works at my computer every day for at least 8 hours a day, it is important that I look after my eyes.
The optometrist said my prescription had changed in the past 18 months, but just a shade. I said, I wanted to get the new prescription filled and this time I wanted to try transition lenses, the type that darken when you go out into the sunshine and lighten again when you come back indoors. Combined with features such as progressive lenses and new frames times two - one set is for the computer with new frames set me back $1,200, but I will receive what they refer to as "cashback", $300 to be specific, so my two pairs of glasses "only" cost me $900. Whoop de do! Not to mention what the crown on my front tooth is going to cost - $800 was the quote. Yikes getting older costs a lot of money!
